About

Nant May Than Htay (Esther) is a gender and development specialist from Myanmar. She holds a Master of Science in Gender and Development Studies from the Asian Institute of Technology. With nearly a decade of experience in women and youth empowerment, community development, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction, she possesses strong project management skills and a deep understanding of gender issues. Her diverse training background includes sessions on project cycle management, gender equality, women’s rights, environmental awareness, and participatory methods for poverty reduction. She has actively participated in workshops and programs focusing on youth development and gender equality and has received prestigious awards and scholarships for her contributions to these fields. Esther has successfully implemented various women and youth empowerment and integrated community development programs across Myanmar through Rights-Based Empowerment and Inclusiveness approaches. Currently, she serves as the gender academic coordinator and communication archive for the WePower-SAR 100/Large Systems Training Program at Yunus Center AIT. Esther is dedicated to promoting gender equality and fostering sustainable development initiatives, both domestically in Myanmar and on a global scale.
