3rd NIC-NIDA Conference organized by National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA)

Yunus Center AIT (YCA) is an associate partner for the 2024 National and International Conference of the National Institute of Development Administration (3rd NIC-NIDA) Conference. The main theme “Redesigning our Common Future for Sustainable Transformation” underscores the importance of revising our path towards a future focused on equity and environmental sustainability.

 

The conference, taking place on August 22-23, 2024, at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in Bangkok, Thailand, will feature keynote and plenary lectures, as well as panel and roundtable discussions delivered by academics in the specialized disciplines under the following sub-themes:

  1. Rethinking and Reinventing Research and Development for Sustainable Impact

  2. Sustainable Development: Research and Policy in the Asian Community

  1. Interdisciplinary Pathways to Sustainable Development: Challenges 

The National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA)  was founded on April 1, 1966, in Thailand. It is a higher education institution that aims to meet the country’s developmental requirements. NIDA provides programs for postgraduate students at the master’s and doctoral levels, prioritizes top-notch research, and offers academic services with commitment. Currently, NIDA offers studies in various development administration fields, consisting of Public Administration, Business Administration, Development Economics, Applied Statistics, Social Development, Environmental Management, Language and Communication, Human Resource Development, Law, Integrated Tourism Management, Communication Arts and Management Innovation, and Business Management.

Over the past consecutive years, NIDA has been hosting three significant annual conferences: the National Conference (celebrated on the institute’s anniversaries), the International Conference on Advancement of Development Administration – Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies (NIDA ICADA-SSIS), and the NIDA International Conference for Case Studies on Development Administration (NIDA-ICCS). These conferences aim to disseminate academic work, foster knowledge-sharing and idea exploration, and demonstrate research that contributes to the country’s development.

This year, NIDA is organizing the 3rd NIC-NIDA Conference under the theme “Redesigning our Common Future for Sustainable Transformation.”This theme underscores the importance of revising our path towards a future focused on equity and environmental sustainability. The conference, taking place on August 22-23, 2024, at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in Bangkok, Thailand, will feature keynote and plenary lectures, as well as panel and roundtable discussions delivered by academics specializing in the mentioned disciplines.

YCA also participate as a part of NIDA.

Yunus Center AIT (YCA) at 3rd NIC-NIDA Conference

 

Prof. Faiz Shah, the Executive Director at Yunus Center AIT (YCA) will be speaking in a panel session at theat 3rd NIC-NIDA Conference. 

​

Prof. Khimji Vaghjiani (PhD), a tech investor and mentor at NarNarayan Dev Consulting, a professor of Innovation and AI and the awardee of Australian Innovator 2010 from Torrens University Australia (TUA) has been an active partner of the Yunus Center at AIT (YCA) over the years.  Prof. Vaghjiani will present a paper highlighting AI’s role in political leadership in South Asia’s emerging cconomies towards poverty alleviation, in alignment with YCA’s overarching vision.

 

Dr. Tapaswini Dash, a lecturer of International Human Resource Management and Development, Naresuan University International College, and a Visiting Scholar at YCA, will present a paper focusing on women led sustainable farming opportunities in Thailand. 

 

Additionally, 3 more YCA members, Dr. Tanawan S. Carraway, Ms. Saw Theint Theint Htet, and Ms. Hnin Htet Htet Htun, will present their papers on various issues in social development. 

  • Dr. Tanawan S. Carraway: “Redesigning Health and Well-being for Sustainable Transformation at AIT through the Genki-Campus Initiative”

  • Ms. Saw Theint Theint Htet: “Capacity Assessment: Organizational Management towards Social and Environmental Sustainability in Myanmar”

  • Ms. Hnin Htet Htet Htun: “Sustainable Transformation Strategies for Mitigating Socio-Economic Challenges of Rural to Urban Migration in Developing Countries”

 

These international-level papers will be presented on 22 August 2024.
